Here's an interesting reply from Jay Blakeney ( currently living in Malaysia ) to Tom Parker :

Jay Blakeney

Hello Tom, really made my otherwise gloomy day to receive your birthday greetings and update on the number one topic of the day. Yes, we have a lot of cases of the Virus here - over 1000 cases - due to a islamic missionary group of 16000 people from around asia who met in our capital K.L. recently  then through joint bathing, eating from common bowl with hands etc. a large number of the attendees contracted the disease then took it back to their home villages towns etc. when the meetings were over.... now we have cases in every one of the state's in Malaysia and the spread is doubling daily... so the whole country is in Lock Down in the hope of reducing the spead and expansion of the disease. As you noted i am 77 this year and quite worried that if i get it and don't get very good medical care I may not make it... so i am not going out at all just going over the photos of various assignments i worked on over the years.... not much else.. kind of like "house arrest"... :) hope we both make it through this difficult time and celebrate our subsequent birthdays in the future... Happy Social Distancing Tom... hope to have better news for you in future messages... jay PS. i just prepared a short FB album of photos from a journey i took through Far Western China about 10 years ago on an assignment for Asian Development Bank to plan for Ecological Restoration projects in the region - to be funded by Asian Development Bank...on a soft loan facility... this FB album is just about he train journey but may put up more later about the project activities in the 5 project provinces....of Far West China. hope you can receive this and open it. IT is not my strong point - ALL THE BEST ! :) jay
