My friend Valerie has been gone for a long time now. I talked to her briefly on the phone when my husband and I were in New Zealand in 1986 but we were unable to hook up. Val had her struggles but she was always a good friend. I hope her life was a happy one.
Thank you Dale. I always wondered about her life. She was in my life through high school, church, family friends...but I did not keep up long. Do you know anything more about her? She certainly had the best soul. I would have loved to see her again. Lou
Years ago she was in Vancouver visiting and I had her over one evening.Norma and Carole Sinclair and I think another classmate came. I think she had 2 daughters but unfortunately her husband abused them. She did have a tough life.
Thanks Lou and Sherrin. I am so sorry to hear that her life was not easy. I left over 50 years ago so didn't stay in contact but someone obviously gave me the info about her living in NZ and I did talk to her. That's all I remember......but over the years, had often thought of Val, even after her passing.
She came from a wonderful family. Her father was the superintendent of schools and her mother was a lovely woman. Her younger sister was cute and fun. It amazes me that our lives can change so much. She may have needed good friends around her to support her, those who understood her...I was one of those but I 'dropped the ball'. I am not sure that her sister is alive. I will ask my brother Bill who was her age. Maybe he can connect us. And Dale and Sherrin, it is so nice to be connected with you both. Lou
