Sad to hear of Ray's passing today. I will always remember him for his sense of humour and enjoyment of life.He was the biggest guy on the Delbrook football team which automatically made him one of the most valuable players also a great team mate.I feel fortunate to have known Ray.
Ray was a good friend for many years. Very sad his passing. Ray was a sailor,an astute business man, a fun guy and a wonderful father to his 3 children and mate to his wife, Charlene. May he rest in peace.
I am devastated. Ray was larger than life with such a gentle, caring nature and such a sweet smile and love of a laugh. You will be dearly missed, Ray. Lynn
My heart goes out to Charlene and Rays family.I didnt see Ray after we graduated from High School until a group of the Highland Rowdies started to have reunions at 100 Mile and 108 mile House. Ray & Charlene attended these reunions and it was great getting together and rekindling all the high school friendships we used to have in school. Rays great sense of humour was always present at these reunions and you could count on him to make us all laugh. I visited him in the hospital and even then when he wasnt in great shape he came through with a smile and he tried so hard to talk but it was difficult after his surgery..Once he got home though he phoned me and it was Ray happy to be home and telling jokes.I will miss his laugh, kindness and fighting spirit as will all of us who so enjoyed his company.
So sorry to hear of Ray's passing. Many fond memories of get togethers enjoying his warmth, humour, and friendship. Ray was an inspiring businessman, fellow sailor, and role model. It has been an honour knowing Ray going back to the 'Hamilton' days! Our thoughts are with Charlene and family. A life well-lived and now at peace.
I am truly sorry to hear of my dear friend Ray Tomlinson passing away. He was a great guy. I have special memories of good times spent with Ray and Charlene. My heart goes out to Charlene at this difficult time. Ray will be missed.
I just got to know Ray again a few years ago. What a lovely man he was. And Charlene... Ray chose such a beautiful and dear woman for a wife. I am sorry I do not know their children. I wish the family wonderful memories to hold in their hearts as they turn to life without him. Lou
Yes I enjoyed knowing Ray, he was a man with a huge personally and a friend of many.I reflect back over the years starting in Hamilton Jr. right on into Delbrook. This brings back a memory of both Ray and I having taken French 10 for the third time, knowing full well it was not likely we would pass and needing it to graduate on the universary entrance program, we devised a scheme to secure a copy of the exam. Ray was to cornered the french teacher in the hallway while I snuck into the class room opened his desk and wrote down answers a fast as I could, Ray giving me the warning that the conversation was over, I escaped with slightly over 60 % of the answers which was sufficent for both of us to pass the course. I'm convinced he gave us a passing grade only because he didn't want to see us in his classroom again.

Ray was a great guy even back in Queen Mary Elementary School Days . We met at a function at the
Engineer's Club in Vancouver in the early 1990's and had a chat about those days .
